Event Details

The Fayetteville Police Department Crime Prevention Unit is dedicated to assisting local area apartment communities in their on-going efforts to reduce criminal activity, and to provide residents and rental office personnel with the knowledge necessary to effect a safe environment in which to thrive. This presentation will address "tips" for personal and environmental safety which when followed, may enhance a sense of safety and security for all concerned.

About the Instructor:

Sharon Stevens is the Crime Prevention Specialist with the Fayetteville Police Department Crime Prevention Unit. 

Sharon is a native of Fayetteville, having attended Reid Ross Senior High School and then went on to Appalachian State University. She is a former law enforcement officer at Mercer Island and Seattle Police Departments. She spent seven years assigned to the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SAU) for the Seattle Police Department.  

Currently Sharon is employed with the Fayetteville Police Department, assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit as a Specialist in Central District.  

Sharon is married to Retired (Air Force) MSgt. Duane Stevens and has two children - a son Camron and daughter, Naomi.  She enjoys bowling and riding motorcycles when she is not working.
